About Historical Society
Together, Navajo County and the City of Holbrook make it possible for the Historical Societys Museum and offices to be housed in the 119-year-old historic courthouses. Financial support from the city provides funds for the information desk salaries and archival materials.
The society is a non-profit 501(c) organization and maintains a small book/gift shop, that with donations and memberships supplement the city allocation for archival and exhibit materials.
The book/gift shop is located in the main reception area that offers a selection of publications that cover subjects from Petrified Forest National Park to Route 66, gems and rocks, Native American cultures, regional cookbooks, archeology, and more, including books for children. Other merchandise includes petrified wood, key chains, postcards, coins, and magnets. As a non-profit operated shop, no merchandise tax is added.
